Dedicated to Lawrence King
Reading of another fallen young man
And his killer
Being put away for 21 years;
21 years
For shooting a kid
In the back of the head.
Scrolling down
To the pit
Where the venom is spat
Under the anonymity
Of the internet;
Code names and screen names
Spitting
On this dead boy;
Quoting Leviticus
And saying,
“GAY= Got AIDS Yet?”,
“Sometimes dead is better.”,
“Homosexuals’ minds are not right or they'd be heterosexuals.”
Hiding behind digital masks
They spit their venom and hatred
At the murdered corpse
Of a fifteen year old boy.
Is there no mercy left in this Nation?
